Nine years ago today I was very pregnant. About 36 weeks pregnant, and itchy. My feet itched, my hands itched, my body itched. I had cholestasis. I was familiar with the symptoms because I had had it when I was pregnant with my first child. Cholestasis is a liver condition, and can be fatal to the unborn child. Just like the first time around, we had to get that baby outta of there! I was booked in for an induction bright and early the next day (I say bright, it was still dark when we got to the hospital).

Tomorrow, my baby boy will be nine years old. Phew! It’s gone fast. I’ve been very privileged to be able to be at home with my children, and I’m grateful to have been there for every tantrum, and every giggle. My boy was born small, and he’s still a pocket rocket. Everyday he reminds me to take life on, full speed.

Happy birthday B2. Mum, Dad and B1 love you with all our hearts. Our family was made that bit more joyous all those years ago, when you came into our lives.
